Granola tends to be a calorie-dense snack, and I instead, usually go for cereal because I am a fan of crunchy flakes. Bakery On Main Nutty Cranberry Orange Cashew Granola is different in that, oats are not the base ingredient, but toasted corn flakes – so it works perfectly in my favor, especially since I grew up eating bran flakes straight out of the box along side with raw almonds – making my own crunchy mix of flakes and nuts.
Along with the toasted corn flakes in this granola are roasted cashews and cranberries. It is a great mix and the natural sweetness of the dried cranberries and crunch of the nuts and granola clusters goes well together. There was a light orange scent, and I am glad that it wasn’t too overpowering in taste, but I certainly could smell it upon opening the package. Made with unrefined sugar, this granola also wasn’t dry tasting and holds up to its form in maintaining crunchiness. Good on that, because I’m not a fan of soggy granola or cereal.
