Talk about cute packaging! I’m instantly drawn in, without a doubt, to the overall wrapper design and marketing of this chocolate bar. Yes, I am easily intrigued by product packaging, without a doubt. Packaging aside, Awake Caffeinated Chocolate contains 101 mg of caffeine (equal to a 250mL energy drink). So ditch that cup o’ Joe, and wake up to chocolate. Or just eat it, because, well – you just want to. The latter instance was the case for me since it’s chocolate after all.
In all honesty, I was a bit weary about the combination, especially since I was wondering if the taste of chocolate would taste a bit off with the added caffeine. I was surprised. There was no chemical taste to this chocolate bar at all and no aftertaste, which is definitely a good thing. There’s not really a richness to the bar either, but rather, it reminds me of just a regular chocolate bar you would expect to pick up. The texture wasn’t completely smooth, so it was a bit off putting, but not too bothersome. You may not get a sugar rush from the bar, since it isn’t too sweet, but yes, there is a splurge of energy that unleashes subsequently afterwards. As an energy booster, this definitely is an excellent alternative to a liquid form of energy buzz, because it really combines the best of both worlds in one. Trust me, you’ll stay awake for a bit with this. Don’t underestimate this tasty chocolate bar.
