Beanitos Black Bean Chips

blackbeanlg

chipotlebbqlgWhen I think of beans and chips, I think of corn tortilla chips and bean dip. Don’t expect that from Beanitos, a creative snack that brings together nutritious beans that are naturally high in fibre and protein, into a chip form – Yes a chip! And we all know that I’m an expert when it comes to enjoying crunchy snacks, with chips being at the forefront of it all.

The black bean chip varieties comes in two delicious flavors: original black bean, and chipotle bbq. Both are made primarily with black bean and whole long grain rice. They’re also quite thick and can handle those thicker dips no problem.

The original black bean is quite neutral. In fact, the flavor and taste of black bean is very mild. I’d say, they’re just plain chips. So this would be a good start if you’re weary of black bean chips. However, the chipotle bbq has a great barbecue taste that kicks in after a few bites. There’s a great level of spice, with a bit of hearty taste from the black beans. You can easily find the bottom of the bag in a matter of minutes. I share from experience. And really, there is nothing wrong with that. After all, you’re getting fibre, and protein. A two in one combo just for finishing the bag. It’s a win-win.
